What is the Stormwater
BMP Recognition Program?
The BMP Recognition Program recognizes innovative stormwater
Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the southeastern region
of Pennsylvania (targeted counties are specified under Recognition
Eligibility Criteria). What is the program looking
for? Projects, such as rain gardens, green roofs, infiltration
swales, treatment wetlands - stormwater management systems based
on nature’s best designs. We know they are out there and
we want others to know they exist to provide similar inspiration.

• To create incentives to continue the development of stormwater BMPs
These goals are consistent with the vision and mission of the Office of Watersheds.
The Office of Watershed's vision for a "Clean Water - Green City" is to unite the City with its water environment, creating a green legacy for future generations while incorporating a balance between ecology, economics and equity.
The Office of Watershed's mission is to preserve and enhance the health of the region's watersheds through effective wastewater and stormwater services and the adoption of a comprehensive watershed management approach that achieves a sensible balance between cost and environmental benefit and is based on planning and acting in partnership with other regional stakeholders.
